P3 required a roof refurbishment delivered with minimal disruption to businesses, customers, and deliveries.

The building was in a service lane that’s busy on a normal day, never mind during construction works.

Sauchiehall Street roof renovation - In progress

The challenge

  • Access: scaffold and lifting had to be managed in a narrow lane with constant pub/shop deliveries
  • Waste: stone chippings couldn’t be safely lowered by hoist
  • Risk: the public and live trading below meant every decision needed tight controls

Our solution:

We coordinated scaffold, deliveries and lifting with precision to keep the lane functioning. By getting the cherry picker and material deliveries in during the early morning (5am to be precise) we made sure the public could get on with their day without disruption.

For us, it’s about safety for the community, minimising risk, easing congestion and keeping things running smoothly. Experience matters: success isn’t just refurbishing the roof, it’s about everyone else moving around you too.

Chippings were scraped and bagged into tonne bags and craned down under banksman control with full traffic management. Controlled, repeatable, and safe.

Materials were scheduled for delivery in sequence to avoid site congestion, reduce storage risks and keep the lane clear.

A full system build-up was installed to specification, with careful attention to insulation bonding, lap integrity, and finishing details: including new timbers, GRP trims, Z-bars and cladding to achieve a clean, professional edge.

The result

  • Live retail units remained open throughout
  • Waste removal completed safely with banksman-controlled lifts
  • A thermally upgraded, robust roof system installed to warranty standards
  • A tidy site and a finish that looks professional from every angle

Why the Sauchiehall Street roof refurb matters

City-centre projects don’t forgive sloppy planning. This one proves Sennit can deliver quality roofing without becoming a disruption problem for everyone else.
